L’Orange – Alone feat. Blu (Video)

“Alone” is the first single off of L’Orange‘s LP The Mad Writer, and it rightfully features Los Angeles hip-hop underground kingpin Blu. The record by itself is reminiscent of a short film, and now thanks to Kangaroo 5 Productions we need not to imagine any further.

Killer Mike via DONE (Win)

url

Soooo….if you’ve been sleeping with Patrick down in Bikini Bottom for the majority of your extended life (god help you), you could very well be unaware that John John Florence and Blake Kueny’s have a new surf flick Done. Actually, it is more like 24 minutes of mutant tweaked airs, colossal barrels  , seamless cutbacks, tight edits, and everything you’ve ever dreamed of while shredding pillow reef. It also happens to be  accompanied by a fucking dope sound track!!! Over at the BDB, the boyz are big fans of rap, especially when it’s Killer Mike. It seems that John John Florence and Blake Kueny are big fans as well. His song “Don’t Die” from his latest album release (2012) R.A.P. Music is used for arguably the best section of the whole movie. Click that play button and get both the movie Done and Killer Mike’s latest release R.A.P. Music over at Itunes.

Kendrick Lamar- Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe (remix) feat. Jay-Z

20130318-VIBE

A few days back, Young Guru gave the crowd at SXSW, and of course the entire internet, a special treat when he debuted the official remix of the standout track “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe” from K.Dot’s breakthrough album good kid, m.A.A.d city. The remix features non other than Marcy’s Project’s finest, Jay-Z, who by the way goes absolutely pistachio on the second verse. And then…there is Kendrick Lamar. At this point, anytime you see Kendrick’s name on a song, you can go ahead and rightfully expect something that will have you seriously questioning whether this man is from the same planet as you are (probably not). Starting with his first verse, you can’t help but catch yourself bobbing your head as you hang onto every line of audio dope coming through those speakers. The third and final verse dished out  by Kendrick is absolutely ridiculous. We’re talking Kendrick in overdrive-mode double-clutching to the finish line serving some straight up forest fire heat. J.Cole- Truly Yours (EP)

J_Cole_Truly_Yours-front-large
From the man himself:
It’s time. I appreciate you giving me the time I needed to grow, experiment, and find the direction for my 2nd album.. And I have. Along the way I’ve recorded at least 4 albums worth of material, lots of it being unfinished demo versions waiting to be polished up, some of them are great songs and important stories that just won’t make the album (either they don’t fit Sonically, don’t fit Theme, or there’s just not enough space) . Tonight, I want to give you a few of these songs because you deserve them. It’s hard as fuck for me to keep all this music from you for so long, so I know it’s been hard for you to wait. Thank you for your patience. Vibe out to these songs in their raw form, no polish.. just a lot of my soul.. The wait is over. Truly Yours, Born Sinner Truly Yours PS- 1st single coming this week. The album is hands down my best work yet. Can’t wait to share.
